Reactions to WhatsApp messages to support more emojis

It’s safe to say that WhatsApp has been working on a number of new features and one of the most requested happens to be reactions to emoji messages. The feature was first hinted at last year in August, and since then it’s been available in several betas on iOS and Android. Last month, WhatsApp started rolling out the update to some lucky beta users, but it’s still not here for many of us. However, that doesn’t mean the company is done tweaking the feature, as the latest tip reveals that the company may add more emoji reactions so you can freely express yourself and react to messages.

WhatsApp Emoji reactions still not available to everyone, but new features around it are still on the way

The tip, of course, comes from WABetaInfoand they shared a screenshot that shows how there’s now a new button that lets you choose from more than the default set of emojis, and honestly, I’m not surprised considering the Most apps that have feedback already offer it.

As you can see from the screenshot above, the emoji reactions panel in WhatsApp for Android Beta v2.22.9.4 now has a plus sign icon. Tapping on this new icon will likely allow users to choose more emojis and add them to the panel. However, in the current beta, the button does not work, so we cannot say more about it.

The new version of the Message Reactions panel may start rolling out with the upcoming WhatsApp beta. However, the company has not shared the official release date and many of us are still waiting for the original emoji reaction to hit our devices.

Are you looking forward to using the new emoji reactions or are you waiting for another WhatsApp feature to come your way? Let us know your thoughts below.
