‘Harry Potter’ Reboot More Likely Than Ever As Wizarding World Support Crashes

Things aren’t looking so good for the wizarding world, and for once, it has nothing to do with dark wizards and death eaters. Although it may seem sudden, there have been some shuffling issues within the Harry Potter franchise for quite some time, and it all dates back to 2018.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) was the first entry into the Harry Potter film series for dividing the fanbase, while leaving critics unimpressed. It may have grossed $654 million at the worldwide box office, but it was the lowest-grossing film in the entire franchise.

However, everything changed this year with the release of Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets (2022). The third entry in the Harry Potter The film franchise made even less than its predecessor, grossing over $400 million worldwide.

It also received mixed reviews from fans and critics alike, so it’s fair to say that things are looking pretty grim for the Wizarding World, which is a real shame from the perspective of the fantastic beasts movies, when you consider how magical the original 2016 film is.

But, just like the highly controversial star wars sequel trilogy, it became increasingly clear that the fantastic beasts the series lacks meaning. But if that was the only cloud hanging over this franchise’s head, all it would take is a simple rectification charm to set things right.

In the four years since Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwalda storm of controversy has plunged the franchise into obscurity, much like something you’d expect to see in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011). And this controversy isn’t just about Johnny Depp.

The iconic actor has become a household name again due to the infamous lawsuit that recently ended, which saw Depp win the libel suit against his ex-wife. However, while his release from fantastic beasts the films caused problems, cracks quickly surfaced elsewhere.

Wizarding World creator JK Rowling has been at the center of much controversy, having previously shared Tweets deemed anti-trans. Meanwhile, Ezra Miller, who plays Credence Barebone in the spinoff films, was recently arrested twice for assault.

around the exit of fantastic beasts and where to find them (2016), which was a critical and financial success, it was revealed that Warner Bros. intended to release five films in the fantastic beasts series, but now this shot has a pretty big question mark hanging over it.

The trouble is that Fantastic Beasts: Dumbledore’s Secrets by no means marks the end of the series, meaning it would take at least one more movie to wrap up the story first established in 2016. But based on box office numbers, will we have- us another entry as promised?

Only time will tell, but given that Warner Bros. isn’t in possession of a Time-Turner, it’s entirely possible there are plans to wipe the slate clean. Perhaps they’ll use the popular concept of the multiverse to do this, which has quickly become a common plot device in blockbuster movies.

The game in two stages Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (2016), which is considered canon, uses the Time-Turner in order to create alternate timelines, so it’s not a stretch to think that Warner Bros. can use such a plot device to reset the Wizarding World timeline.

But even if that happens, the Harry Potter the movies will still be there. It’s just a shame that we have yet another movie franchise that’s been dragged through bad installments and controversies (maybe Harry Potter and star wars have more in common than you might think).

Later this year, fans can also shape the wizarding world as they see fit, with open-world play Hogwarts Legacy (2022). All hope is therefore not lost. Let’s just hope that Warner Bros. will find a way to deal with all that mischief without using their own version of a Time-Turner.
